Hospital.

Inside a hospital room, the setting sun could be seen through the window, bleeding across the sky like crimson silk, it was already dusk.

Inside, the room was filled with all sorts of fresh flowers.

When Qiao Sang woke up, the first thing she saw was a circle of heads leaning in: Yabao, Lubao, Gangbao, Qingbao, and Baowuwu.

"Yap yap!"

"Lu di!"

"Gang zhan!"

"Qing qing!"

"Wuwu!"

Seeing their Tamer wake up, Yabao and the others showed excited expressions, calling out in surprise. Even the usually cold and calm Lubao and Gangbao were no exception.

Having received feedback from her pets, Qiao Sang’s hearing was extraordinary. Such close-range shouting was far too loud for her, and she instinctively covered her ears.

Realizing this, Yabao and the others immediately went silent.

"What happened to me?" Qiao Sang propped herself up on the bed and asked.

"Yap yap!"

"Yap yap!"

"Yap yap!"

Yabao began chattering away, explaining the situation at the time. Lubao, Gangbao, Qingbao, and Baowuwu nodded in agreement from time to time.

I held my own against an A-level Tamer and all those wild pets from the Secret Realm Cracks, only to end up in the hospital at the last second... After listening, Qiao Sang pressed her forehead, reminiscing: "I remember now. I think I saw a pair of terrifying eyes, and then I lost consciousness."

As she spoke, she scanned the room. Her first thought was: Holy crap, why are there so many flowers?

Her second thought was: Where is Little Treasure?

Before she could ask, the door was pushed open. Mikayla walked in and asked: "What eyes?"

Qiao Sang wasn't surprised that Teacher Mikayla had overheard the conversation from outside. She gathered her thoughts and replied: "It was a pair of huge, terrifying eyes, right inside the Ghost Mist."

After a pause, she added: "They were dark red."

Mikayla pondered for a moment, and then something occurred to her. Her expression changed slightly as she took out her phone and typed something.

The phone vibrated as a response came through.

After about five seconds, Mikayla handed the phone over and asked: "Were they these eyes?"

Qiao Sang looked closely and said with certainty: "Those are the ones."

Upon hearing this, Mikayla’s expression became exceptionally complex.

"Teacher, what kind of pet do those eyes belong to?" Qiao Sang asked.

"Miheilamu." Mikayla said.

Qiao Sang's eyes widened in shock as she gasped in disbelief: "The legendary pet Miheilamu?"

"That’s the one." After saying this, Mikayla looked at Qiao Sang with a complicated gaze. 

"No wonder you received such a great stroke of luck."

Qiao Sang was utterly bewildered: "What stroke of luck?"

Mikayla didn't answer. Instead, she went to the bedside table, picked up a medical report, and handed it over.

Qiao Sang took it, scanned it quickly, and finally fixed her eyes on a specific number. Her eyes bulged as she cried out: "My brain development has reached 59%?"

Mikayla explained: "After you fainted, Lubao cast Healing Light on you, but you still didn't wake up. So, I brought you to the hospital for a full check-up. The doctor said there’s nothing wrong with your physical condition, it’s just that your brain development increased too much all at once, and you needed a good sleep."

Qiao Sang was both shocked and delighted.

She never expected that she would wake up to find her brain development had jumped from 50% to 59%, only 1% away from reaching 60%!

That was 60% brain development, a milestone many B-level Tamers spend their entire lives failing to reach. She had nearly achieved it just by taking a nap.

Suppressing her excitement, Qiao Sang asked: "Was it Miheilamu who helped?"

"Most likely." 

Mikayla nodded slightly, reflecting: "No other pet has that kind of capability. The doctor said the increase was magical, it was a forced elevation, yet it stayed within your tolerance level without causing any damage to your brain."

Qiao Sang froze: "My brain wasn't damaged... wasn't that because of Lubao's Healing Light?"

Mikayla smiled:

"The damage caused by forcibly increasing brain development is permanent. Healing Light restores one's state, if your brain had been damaged and you used Healing Light, it would at most restore your physical condition so you wouldn't suffer from the side effects of brain damage. Restoring it to the point where you could continue developing and ranking up would be impossible."

"If Healing Light had such a miraculous effect, every Tamer would forcibly increase their brain development and then just heal back to normal. We wouldn't just have S-level Tamers, SSS-level Tamers would be everywhere."

That makes sense... Qiao Sang then remembered something and asked: "Where is Little Treasure?"

"Yap yap!"

Before Mikayla could answer, Yabao called out, and his eyes began to glow with blue light.

The surrounding bouquets were suddenly lifted into the air by an invisible force.

Qiao Sang turned her head and finally noticed another bed nearby.

Lying on it was Little Treasure, his eyes closed, looking as if he were in a deep, peaceful sleep.

"What's wrong with him?" Qiao Sang's heart skipped a beat as she asked nervously.

After all, Little Treasure never slept.

"He's like you, his energy was forcibly increased." 

Mikayla glanced at Little Treasure on the bed and continued: "Lubao has already cast Healing Light on him as well. It's just that he absorbed too much energy too quickly and hasn't woken up yet. Don't worry, the doctor said he's much like you and should wake up today."

Hearing this, Qiao Sang couldn't help but ask: "He was fine while he was absorbing the energy though. I remember Little Treasure was perfectly okay when we were leaving."

Mikayla’s expression became complex once again: "It happened right as you were leaving. Just like with you, it was likely Miheilamu's doing. At that moment, a massive amount of Ghost Mist surged into his body. He absorbed too much at once and fainted."

I didn't expect him to have the same stroke of luck as me... Qiao Sang relaxed completely. Then, she thought of something else and asked in confusion:

"Why would Miheilamu help me and Little Treasure?"

Mikayla shot her a look: "Do you think I would know what a legendary pet is thinking?"

For some reason, Qiao Sang felt her teacher's gaze was quite resentful.

Mikayla continued: "I didn't even see Miheilamu's eyes."

Resentful indeed... Qiao Sang coughed and scanned the room to change the subject: "And these flowers?"

"They were sent by the people who made it out of Lost Town." Mikayla said.

So many flowers... how many people must have sent these? Qiao Sang felt a wave of gratitude, but then she remembered a very serious matter and asked: "How long have I been asleep?"

"One day." Mikayla said.

Qiao Sang breathed a sigh of relief: "That’s good. I didn't miss Baowuwu's Secret Realm Crack."

"Wuwu..."

Baowuwu stared blankly at the girl on the hospital bed.

Mikayla glanced at her: "Since we're here, even if you were still asleep, the person who picked us up at the airport would have taken it to find the crack."

Qiao Sang realized her worry was redundant and changed the subject again: "What happened to that person afterward?"

Mikayla didn't react immediately: "Who?"

"That guy who spread the news about the Spirit-Passing Cat." Qiao Sang said.
