Chapter - 19 A Happy Marriage 03 Why did you save me?

Ying Zhuo faced the light and met Shi Yu's questioning gaze. There were many complexities in his slightly shallow pupils.

He was wearing a long purple coat, which looked black under the overly dim light. This wound-like color of clothing added a certain destructive texture to his whole person.

Very sharp, and somewhat mysterious.

The soft black light fell on his cheeks, outlining his well-defined cheekbones very sharply.

Shi Yu understood that the man in front of him was unusual. This man's body contains tremendous power that ordinary people cannot predict.

Before, during the “Family Portrait” incident.

The evil look that flashed across his face was real, even though I never saw it again.

The two of them just stared at each other, Shi Yu's gaze was intense, with no intention of backing down.

Ying Zhuo looked at her and suddenly smiled.

He has a very nice smile, which makes people yearn for him.

Hu Fang and Leng Xinyu stood there stupidly, not knowing whether they should intervene in the conversation between the two people. Then they saw Ying Zhuo smiling and stretching out his left hand and waving it in front of Shi Yu.

The palm of his left hand was covered with tiny wounds, some of which were still oozing with blood, and it was obvious that they were caused by glass.

Leng Xinyu screamed and quickly searched her body, found a few Band-Aids in her pocket and quickly and carefully put them on Ying Zhuo.

Ying Zhuo blinked at Shi Yu aggrievedly and said, "I was pricked on my left hand."

His aggrieved tone of "You don't even know where my wound is" would definitely make people feel embarrassed if someone else heard it, but Shi Yu knew it in his heart.

wrong!

The wound is on the right hand!

As a nurse, Leng Xinyu didn't notice any problem with the wound on Ying Zhuo's hand. Instead, she cared and put a Band-Aid on him.

Shi Yu looked at Leng Xinyu's blushing face and began to feel strange in his heart.

She didn't know why she had such a feeling. Before this, Shi Yu felt that Ying Zhuo was a man who kept his true colors but didn't have any major problems. But now it seemed that Ying Zhuo was also reserved towards other people.

Although it was understandable, she herself did not reveal all her affairs.

But this also made Shi Yu feel a little distant inside, as if Ying Zhuo... was not of the same kind.

Shi Yu didn't say anything else. He took the key that Ying Zhuo found and went to open the kitchen door.

Hu Fang huddled behind Shi Yu, fearing that he would be attacked by some monster again. However, after opening the door, there was no "person" in the kitchen.

But no one is more terrifying than someone.

Except for the door that Shi Yu and the others entered, there was no other way leading to the outside. So what about the eyes that Hu Fang saw just now?

Hu Fang slumped against the door frame: "I'm the one who gets frightened every time. I can't do it anymore."

"Fertilization?" Shi Yu glanced at him. "Congratulations, you can get a buy one get one free deal when you go back. Your dad will definitely be happy."

"QAQ" Hu Fang.

There are many storage racks on the four walls of the kitchen, and a lot of messy food ingredients are hung on the racks, and everywhere is filled with the flavor of life.

When there are too many things, it’s easy to get a headache.

"How do I find this?" Leng Xinyu swept the flashlight around, and the place she scanned was filled with dense debris. She was a little worried.

Shi Yu glanced at the furnishings all around. Although the things were messy, it was not a big deal as they were numerous and the division of labor was even. After thinking for a while, she began to assign tasks: "Each person will be assigned one wall. We will be done quickly. After that, you can go build the bridge and see the world on the other side of the bridge."

Although the other three people present were older than Shi Yu, perhaps because Shi Yu himself was a semi-public figure and because of his previous performance, Shi Yu's right to speak became very useful. Everyone began to work in their respective areas according to Shi Yu's assignment.

After accumulating experience from the last game, although Hu Fang and Leng Xinyu were still a little afraid of these evil creatures that suddenly appeared, they obviously had some experience when playing the game.

"Bah, so dirty, these things are all covered in dust." Hu Fang grabbed a pumpkin and placed it aside with disgust.

Leng Xinyu was holding some bottles and jars of seasonings, and was also patiently searching for something useful. As she searched, she told him about her findings: "There are soy sauce, vinegar, sugar here..." Shi Yu

stood next to the boiler, and her eyes slowly moved from some pots and pans placed on the left to Ying Zhuo who was standing on her right.

He stood in front of the boiler, seemingly unaware of Shi Yu's gaze. Instead, he was concentrating on looking at some black residue in the medicine jar in front of him, as if someone was cooking medicine.

There were three or four Band-Aids on the palm of his left hand, and the flesh-colored Band-Aids made his already extremely fair skin look even whiter.

Ying Zhuo slowly grasped the handle of the medicine jar, put the mouth of the jar to his nose, and sniffed gently.

The lines of his neck flowed like a smooth river, his Adam's apple rolled slightly, and he made a sound like the sound of a spring: "Someone in this house is taking medicine."

It goes without saying that it should be the owner of this house.

During this period, only the owner of the house was qualified to use these things.

Follow the game prompts at the beginning.

In addition to the male owner, the Liu family also has a first wife and a second wife.

All the problems occurred one month after the second wife got married.

Hu Fang said, "Is this medicine for the second wife?"

No one answered.

Who knows? Anyway, it’s not for the servants to drink.

Shi Yu looked up at the things in the area he was responsible for. There was a bamboo basket next to the corner of the wall, covered with a piece of linen with a blue and white brocade pattern. She walked over and saw that the bamboo basket seemed to be shaking slightly, and realized that there seemed to be something in it.

After being frightened a few times, Hu Fang learned his lesson and refused to come over no matter how people called him.

Shi Yu pinched the edge of the linen cloth and gently untied it.

Leng Xinyu covered her eyes, not daring to see what it was.

After the sackcloth was lifted, everyone heard a cat's meow coming from inside the bamboo basket.

There was a black cat huddled in a bamboo basket, staring at the people outside the basket with a pair of dark green eyes. It looks like it's in a very bad mood and is wary of everything. When it sees people, it stands with its beard erect.

Hu Fang breathed a sigh of relief: "It's a cat."

Why would there be a cat in the kitchen?

The black cat had a silver chain tied around its neck, and there were some food scraps scattered in the bamboo basket.

"If it's a domestic cat, why would it be tied up with a chain in a place like this?" Shi Yu looked at the cat, somewhat puzzled. "It always feels like imprisonment rather than captivity."

The other three people also had this feeling.

This cat seems to be very aggressive towards humans. As long as someone gets close to it or tries to reach out to take it out of the bamboo basket, it will show its sharp teeth and send out attack signals from its whole body.

There was a strong smell of blood in the bamboo basket, mixed with some indescribable special smell.

"It's the smell of amniotic fluid." Ying Zhuo frowned slightly. "This female cat just gave birth."

Hu Fang came over, sniffed it hard, and then walked away pinching his nose: "Why can't I smell it?"

Ying Zhuo glanced at Hu Fang with a look of disgust as if to say "you're just a human being", then stood beside the bamboo basket and looked at the female cat whose whole body was full of vigilance: "All its children are gone."

Shi Yu went to the food shelf to find some cooked meat, trying to get closer to the black cat so that it could relax its vigilance towards him.

After searching for a while, I found a piece of paper.

The paper was a piece of yellow rice paper, neatly folded and placed in the corner of the shelf. After it was opened, it was covered with dense handwriting written in black ink.

After careful identification, I found that they were all names of Chinese medicine, which matched the residue in the medicine jar.

Someone in this house is taking medicine.

Leng Xinyu walked over and took a look, muttering to herself, "Angelica, ginseng, coptis root, platycodon leaves... Hey, these seem to be Chinese medicines that are especially good for women's ovaries."

In layman's terms, the content on this piece of paper should be the pregnancy-maintaining medicine that women from wealthy families in ancient times especially loved to drink.

Hu Fang chuckled: "Wow, is this family so extravagant? They cook pregnancy medicine for the cat to drink?"

The medicine is for people and cats to drink, no one knows.

After Shi Yu fed the black cat a piece of bacon, the black cat seemed less aggressive. It gently licked the oil stains on the bacon and made a humming sound in its throat. It wanted to eat the meat very much, but it was reluctant to swallow it.

Shi Yu pointed towards the woodshed and said, "There is an axe in the southeast corner of the woodshed. Let's take down the chain."

Hu Fang took the order and swung the axe to chop the chain.

The iron chain loosened, and the black cat climbed out of the bamboo basket with the piece of bacon in its mouth.

"Follow." Shi Yu said, and ran out around the woodshed behind the black cat.

The black cat passed through the door outside, then ran through the weeds beside the lotus pond in the garden, and finally disappeared in front of a concrete wall. Four people stood by the wall. Hu Fang looked at the three-person-high wall and didn't know how to get in: "There's no door here."

Shi Yu squatted down, reached out and dug in the weeds for a few times, and found a dog hole that one person could enter.

"The cat got in, so we went in too," she said.

There are a lot of weeds next to this wall, which completely blocks the dog hole.

If it weren't for the cat's guidance, they would never have discovered this place.

After the four people groped their way through the dog hole one by one, they found a space that was separated from the others and there was not even a place to enter. The dog hole doesn't look like it was made by man. It should have been dug by some small animal.

In the center of this space, there is a strange building.

The black cat stopped beside the building, put the bacon at its feet and meowed a few times. Then, two black kittens came out from behind the building.

These should be the big cat’s children. They regard this place as their temporary habitat, waiting for their mother to come and find them.

If the black cat had not been released, the two kittens might have starved to death because they could not find food.

The three kittens gathered around the bacon and started eating it, while the mother cat circled around her children as if protecting them.

The cats were interested in the food, and the people were interested in the boulder next to them.

There were some very complicated runes carved on the stone. Upon careful identification, the patterns looked a bit like the patterns on ancient gold coins. Everyone looked at Ying Zhuo, who had some knowledge of this.

"What is this used for?" Hu Fang asked curiously, touching the thin layer of dust on it.

Ying Zhuo frowned and looked carefully: "I don't know, it seems to be set up to suppress something."

Shi Yu's eyes fell from top to bottom on the cylindrical diamond-shaped building below, and there was a very strange pickaxe next to it. She was stunned and reached out to touch the soil next to the building.

It was very cool and there seemed to be water under the ground.

Shi Yu exclaimed in surprise: "This is a well!"

In the last incident, Li Sirui's warning was like thunder in his ears, and Shi Yu immediately became alert.

Ying Zhuo nodded and looked at the stone above the well: "There is a stone with runes carved on it above the well. There is 'something' in this well."

Everyone's hair stood on end and they involuntarily moved away from the well.

Shi Yu looked at the intricate patterns carved on the well and stepped on the soft soil. She felt as if water was seeping out of the soil, flowing over the soles of her feet, along her knees, and to every part of her body.

The moonlight above her head was cold and purple, and she was almost forgetting what color the sky was in the real world.

"There's nothing to search here, let's go first." Ying Zhuo suggested.

Hu Fang and Leng Xinyu had long since been unable to bear these strange runes, and hurriedly crawled back through the dog hole they had come through.

"What should we do now?" Leng Xinyu was the first to ask after going out.

Shi Yu took the hemp rope he had found in the woodshed from Hu Fang's hand, and after pulling it out twice, he said to the other three people: "Let's repair the bridge first, and we have to go to the main hall to check."

The others nodded and followed Shi Yu to the broken bridge.

On both sides of the bridge are rippling lotus ponds. The lotus buds have completely withered. Some evening mist is covering the river surface, bringing a cold and bleak texture.

Shi Yu was very familiar with this feeling; it was the same special feeling he had felt during the "Family Portrait" incident.

The temperature has not changed, but my body feels inexplicably cold.

This is what Ying Zhuo said, resentment.

There are many green duckweeds floating in the lotus pond, but they look a little wilted because they are not carefully taken care of.

The surface of the river reflects the azure and purple sky, and the entire river also has a cool feeling with a hint of thick mist.

The broken bridge was located in the front yard. There were several pieces of wood that had been soaked in water and had become so soft that they could no longer be used. Shi Yu pried the boards with both hands and gently broke them in half. Then he tied a rope to the holes in the wood and made a cross knot.

"What is this?" Hu Fang squatted beside and watched Shi Yu cross the ropes back and forth to make a rope similar to a diamond mesh, and then hung the other end of the rope on the tree stump where the broken bridge was originally standing on the ground.

Everything looks very professional and amazing.

"Can the bridge be lifted like this?" Ying Zhuo stood nearby, very curious.

Shi Yu nodded: "Yes, the heavier the objects such a knot carries, the stronger it is."

When she was very young, her father taught her to tie various kinds of knots, so that she could protect herself when climbing rocks and mountains, and also to build some buildings between buildings.

My father was originally a rock climber, but unfortunately he was born at the wrong time. During his peak period, the world always looked down on this extreme sport, thinking it was a suicidal act.

But sparrows do not fly in the sky like eagles, and they cannot understand the sense of honor that humans feel when they conquer mountains with their mortal bodies.

Shi Yu tied the other end of the rope to a wooden stake, tied a firm knot and shook it, looking at the rope net made of hemp rope that he had woven, and stepped on it.

The other end of the rope net is connected to the broken bridge. Although it is slightly shaky, there will be no problem at all if one walks over it one by one.

"Let's go." Shi Yu stood on the rope net and looked at the three people standing on the ground. Their expressions instantly began to change differently.

Hu Fang's eyelids were stretched wide open, and the expression on his face was distorted and scattered as if swept by a strong wind. Leng Xinyu's face was also as pale as paper. Her eyes fell on Shi Yu's feet. She raised her fingers tremblingly and was unable to speak.

Ying Zhuo's face suddenly turned pale and he shouted at Shi Yu: "Xiao Yu! Come here!"

Shi Yu secretly said that something was wrong and looked at his ankle.

A hand that had turned green from being soaked was gripping her ankle, but she didn't feel anything at all. She only felt as if her body was being dragged into the pond.

She saw a giant head three times larger than that of a normal person emerging from the pond. As if due to being soaked in the pond water for too long, the head had been distorted beyond recognition. The skin on its face was so transparent that it seemed like it could be broken with a poke, and there was green corpse fluid inside the skin. With the slightest movement, the corpse fluid inside the giant's head also shook.

And even so, that head was still smiling at Shi Yu!

Ying Zhuo reached out and grabbed Shi Yu's right hand. The giant head and he treated Shi Yu as the rope in a tug-of-war, and the two of them exerted force from both ends.

Shi Yu felt the hand holding her ankle was extremely strong. Ying Zhuo seemed to be overwhelmed. Half of her foot had been pulled into the pool, but Ying Zhuo had no intention of letting go.

He looked at the giant head in the pool and roared, "Let her go!"

The giant head's eyes were squeezed into a slit by the corpse water and swollen skin. He had no intention of letting go, as if he regarded Shi Yu as something he must get.

Shi Yu's calves had been completely submerged in the pool water. Looking at Ying Zhuo who seemed to be being pulled in by her, she said anxiously, "Let go, or we will die together."

Ying Zhuo did not respond. He freed one hand, made a hand gesture and pointed it at the giant's head in the pool water.

But it had no effect, the power of the giant's head did not diminish at all.

Shi Yu felt that his whole legs were numb from the cold and he could not feel anything at all.

Is she going to die?

"What's going on?" Ying Zhuo looked at his hands, the calmness in his eyes fading a little bit.

His ability...how come...it's gone?

"Meow"

A sharp cat cry came from the jungle. The black cat appeared by the pond at some point and was shouting hoarsely and grinning at the giant head in the water. Shi Yu suddenly felt the force pulling his legs suddenly disappear. The giant's head seemed to be stimulated by something. He quickly withdrew his hand and then sank into the pond with a "gulp".

Ying Zhuo took advantage of the situation and pulled Shi Yu back. The two of them sat in the grass beside the pond. Everyone was panicking when they saw the five bright black fingers on Shi Yu's ankle.

She reached out and touched the five finger marks. It didn't hurt or itch, but it was like they were imprinted on her skin, forming a stark contrast with her originally fair skin.

Ying Zhuo looked at her ankle without saying a word, as if wondering why he had lost his ability just now.

Shi Yu also looked at him: "Why did you save me?"

Ying Zhuo looked up, with a smile of surviving a disaster on his face, and said meaningfully: "Because of my excellent character."

"..." Shi Yu. "Thank you."

"You're welcome." He accepted it sincerely.

Shi Yu felt a little ashamed. If the "family portrait" incident was counted, he saved her twice, but she was still doubting the location of his wound just now.

Ying Zhuo was able to carry souls across, so he must be a hermit master with special abilities. Maybe he has some unspeakable secrets that he doesn't want to talk about?

Shi Yu immediately began to like Ying Zhuo.

Ying Zhuo pointed at the giant head that was waiting in the pond and said, "We can't get through with it here."

"It seems to be afraid of cats?" Shi Yu remembered the cry of the black cat just now and began to look for his life-saving cat.
