Chapter 52

"Master." Yuan Chu emerged from the room, followed by a group of mechanical beasts, instantly filling the living room.

"I'm fine." Fei Xiu replied coldly, his expression stern, though the lingering killing intent around him had yet to dissipate.

"You don't look fine." Yuan Chu scanned him thoroughly.

"Dilated pupils, tensed muscles, body temperature at 37.7°C, heart rate 110 beats per minute, clearly in a state of suppressed excitement."

At these words, Fei Xiu suddenly lost his composure.

"Unit One, I’m not feeling well."

"I know." Yuan Chu extended her mechanical arm and hugged him.

"Humans have a saying: Sharing brings success."

Fei Xiu: ... What the hell? Is he supposed to share his sperm or something?

Seeing Fei Xiu’s face darken further, Yuan Chu added, "If you're unwilling, you could always get a vasectomy and prevent any future trouble."

Fei Xiu: ... Could this get any worse? Where did his gentle, understanding robot go?

Yuan Chu patted her hard chest and solemnly promised, "Master, rest assured. I will protect your chastity at all costs and won’t let a single drop of your sperm go to waste!"

Fei Xiu: ...

His robot had successfully distracted him, and the previous unpleasantness mysteriously evaporated.

"Unit One."

Fei Xiu patted her cold head, "If you were a woman, I’d entrust all my sperm to you."

Yuan Chu: ... It felt like he was making a dirty joke.

"…In terms of gender setting, I am technically female."

"I meant a real woman, one I could marry and sleep with."

Yuan Chu: "Is that your wish?"

"Yes." Fei Xiu’s lips curved slightly, and his sharp features softened, revealing an indescribable charm.

Yuan Chu fell into deep thought.

She had chosen to be a robot because it was easier for Fei Xiu to accept, but it seemed even the toughest man needed the comfort of a companion.

Since she entered this world by possessing a body, she could potentially form a new one if necessary.

But would Fei Xiu truly accept her as a human? If he rejected the idea, their connection might break.

Better to observe the situation first.

Fei Luo De and the others didn’t leave much of a psychological scar on Fei Xiu, and soon, life returned to normal.

Until the fifth day, when Fei Xiu had just returned from his morning run. Outside the manor, six or seven people were standing around, some carrying cameras, others with microphones.

Upon spotting him, they rushed toward him like wolves.

"Major General Fei Xiu, why did you leave the capital and choose to settle here?"

"Major General Fei Xiu, are you satisfied with your current lifestyle?"

"Has the state arranged reasonable accommodations for you?"

"As a once-renowned genius, how do you feel about falling into such a situation?"

---

Fei Xiu’s face darkened ominously.

"Who told you about my residence? Without my permission, no one is allowed to disturb my life. Your actions are already an invasion of my privacy. Leave immediately."

He still held the rank of colonel and received benefits as a third-level disabled veteran.

What kind of journalists would be so ignorant as to interview him uninvited?

The reporters, having received a tip, thought they could uncover a societal scandal, perhaps a wounded, retired hero not receiving proper treatment, or a former genius now fallen from grace.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t get any scoop from Fei Xiu and had to leave dejectedly, not daring to challenge a retired soldier under state protection.

Just as Fei Xiu raised his foot, ready to kick the door, it was opened from the inside.

"Master, you're back." Yuan Chu extended a mechanical arm, gently lowering Fei Xiu's raised foot to the ground, then fetched him slippers from the shoe cabinet.

"When did those reporters arrive?" Fei Xiu asked as he changed his shoes.

"Nine minutes ago."

Fei Xiu frowned.

"Who tipped them off? Fei Luo De or Bessa? What's the point of them doing this?"

As long as he didn’t agree, there was no way the reporters could broadcast any news about him.

Yuan Chu answered internally: The reporters were brought here by Bessa, partly to disgust you, and partly to make it easier for her to drug you.

Bessa hadn’t given up on obtaining Fei Xiu's sperm.

After failing to secure a fake marriage or purchase it with money, she resorted to more underhanded methods.

Sending just one or two people would draw too much attention, so she brought a group of reporters as cover, secretly scattering a drug in the manor’s flowerbed.

This drug would take a few hours to vaporize, and its rich fragrance would stimulate sexual desire and cloud the mind.

Bessa planned to sneak into the manor at night with her crew and steal Fei Xiu’s sperm while he was overwhelmed by desire.

No need for personal involvement, just a few strokes would suffice.

But she had forgotten one thing: As an exceptional soldier, Fei Xiu had remarkable self-control.

Even if he fell into the trap, he wouldn't be easily subdued, not to mention she grossly underestimated the manor’s defenses.

As Fei Xiu pondered this, Yuan Chu suddenly alerted him, "Master, it seems the reporters are in trouble."

"What?" Fei Xiu snapped back to attention.

"About forty mechanical beasts are chasing them in the direction they left."

Fei Xiu asked in confusion, "Why are the mechanical beasts attacking them?"

"I received a distress signal from that direction. There’s likely a transport convoy there, and the reporters may have just stumbled upon it."

Without saying another word, Fei Xiu equipped his weapons, took five mechanical beasts, and sped off in a one-man shuttle.

On the other side, the reporters had just reached the halfway point when they suddenly saw several trucks ahead surrounded by a group of mechanical beasts, locked in fierce combat.

The reporters, already feeling down after Fei Xiu’s rejection, were instantly reinvigorated by this unexpected wild battle.

Ignoring their own safety, they immediately turned on their cameras and began live streaming.

"Dear viewers, we were on our way to Xinlan when we accidentally encountered a mechanical beast attack on a convoy. Both sides are engaged in intense combat."

"It seems to be a convoy transporting supplies, with about ten bodyguards. The battle is incredibly fierce."

"The convoy is currently holding the upper hand. There are only three or five mechanical beasts left, and the fight should end soon."

The reporters breathlessly narrated the scene to the camera.

They didn’t notice the forty-plus mechanical beasts rapidly approaching from behind until they were less than a hundred meters away. Panic erupted, and screams filled the air.

Those watching the live broadcast were equally stunned.

【Whoa, this is a major battlefield!】

【These reporters are really risking their lives. Instead of hiding during a fight, they’re charging in to get killed.】

【I just estimated the reinforcements, the mutant mechanical beasts are at least thirty or forty strong. There are only a few fighters left on the human side. The situation is dire.】

【Has anyone contacted Xinlan’s defense forces? When will they arrive for backup?】

【At least a few minutes, right?】

【Oh my god, look! More mechanical beasts are coming!】

【Seriously? More? Wait… something’s off. Why are those mechanical beasts colorful?】

【Such bright colors, has the virus AI started caring about aesthetics now?】

【What kind of aesthetics? Those mechanical beasts look like shoddy homemade knockoffs! They even have serial numbers on them.】

【So, they aren’t mutant mechanical beasts?】

The answer quickly became clear. Those gaudily colored, misshapen mechanical beasts charged straight at the mutant ones, engaging in a fierce battle.

A figure followed swiftly behind, one shot per mechanical beast, with agile movements and precise aim.

In just a few minutes, the tide of the battle had turned, leaving everyone watching in stunned silence.

Twenty minutes later, the battle was over. Before the reporters could react, the figure had already departed with the colorful mechanical beasts, leaving no trace behind.

"That was so cool..." One reporter voiced what everyone was thinking.

After rescuing the group, Fei Xiu immediately returned to the manor. Just a hundred meters away, he sensed something was wrong.

Scattered metal fragments lay along the path, the manor gates were damaged, and a few destroyed mutant mechanical beasts littered the yard.

Fei Xiu's expression changed. He rushed into the manor, scanning the area.

He noticed several domestic mechanical beasts were knocked over, while a few roamed the living room, seemingly guarding something.

"Master, you're back." A head popped up from behind the sofa, with two round eyes glowing blue.

"Unit One." Fei Xiu's heart relaxed, and he strode over.

"What happ—"

He stopped mid-sentence. Yuan Chu's left arm was severed, her chest armor dented, and her waist was nearly cut in half. She was propping herself up with her right arm, barely holding together.

"Not long after you left, the manor was attacked by a dozen mutant mechanical beasts." Yuan Chu reported.

"They were equipped with advanced anti-detection instruments. I believe we need to upgrade the manor’s defense system."

"Is that really your priority right now?" Fei Xiu snapped in frustration, carrying her to the garage while fully sealing the manor to prevent another attack.

"Why didn’t you send me a message when we were attacked?" Fei Xiu demanded, fixing Yuan Chu as he worked.

"According to my calculations, the manor’s defenses were sufficient to handle the attack."

"Bullshit! Look at the state you're in!"

"Master was several thousand meters away from the manor. Even if I had sent a message, you wouldn’t have made it back in time for the rescue."

Fei Xiu grumbled, "Who said I wouldn’t have made it in time?"

Yuan Chu: "...Master, you’ve cursed twice now."

"So what if I curse? I feel like tearing apart a robot with my bare hands!"

Yuan Chu: ...What's with Master’s sudden temper?

It took Fei Xiu an hour to fully repair the robot and recharge her energy.

Once Yuan Chu was taken care of, he went out to clean up the aftermath, leading the remaining mechanical beasts to clear the manor.

A dozen or so dismembered mutant mechanical beasts were carelessly piled up in the yard.

Fei Xiu had a faint sense that he might have drawn the attention of the virus AI. From now on, he’d need to be extremely cautious.

But he wasn’t afraid of battle. In fact, using these mutant mechanical beasts for practice seemed like excellent training.

His only concern was Unit One getting hurt, maybe he should equip her with a combat system?

Lost in thought, he didn’t notice the subtle change in the air. The manor was sealed by a transparent defense shield, trapping the thick scent that filled the enclosed space.

Fei Xiu walked into the bathroom, took a thorough shower, then checked on Yuan Chu in the garage. Once confirming everything was normal, he finally returned to his bedroom to sleep.

The room was thick with fragrance. In his sleep, Fei Xiu felt his body heating up, as if a fire was burning inside him.

Outside the manor, Bessa and her team crept closer, only to be dumbfounded by the sight of the sealed manor.

The full lockdown mode, which consumed massive amounts of energy, was rarely activated.

Bessa had never imagined that after finally drugging the place, she’d encounter a complete lockdown, preventing her from even getting inside.

“Ugh, I’m so mad!” She stomped her foot in frustration and left.

Inside the room, Fei Xiu suddenly opened his eyes, sharp as a beast lurking in the dark.

He breathed heavily, muscles swelling and veins bulging across his flushed skin. Though his mind was clouded, he vaguely guessed he’d been drugged.

Throwing off the covers, Fei Xiu rushed into the bathroom, dousing himself with cold water.

Steam rose from his overheated body, and the veins beneath his reddened skin pulsed visibly.

He braced himself against the wall, gritting his teeth, trying to suppress the raging heat inside him.

“Damn it!” A low, furious growl echoed from the bathroom.

In the garage, Yuan Chu’s eyes lit up as she looked toward the upper floor.

"If you were a woman… a woman who could marry me and sleep by my side…"

Fei Xiu’s words echoed in her mind, making her freeze for a moment.

Should she become a real woman and give it a try?

Based on her experience in previous worlds, the closer her relationship with the fated one, the more fortune she could gain.

While Fei Xiu trusted robots, their relationship was stuck as either master and servant or friends, nothing more.

After much deliberation, and with Fei Xiu upstairs nearing his breaking point, Yuan Chu finally made up her mind.

Her blue electronic eyes dimmed, and in the darkness, a slender figure gradually formed, completely bare, with fair skin and long black hair cascading down her back.

Her small, delicate feet silently touched the floor.

Quietly, she pushed open the door and glided like a ghost to the bathroom. Opening the door, she stepped inside and closed it behind her.

Moments later, muffled, chaotic sounds came from the bathroom, persisting for a long time…

The next day, Fei Xiu woke up in bed, raising a hand to block the sunlight streaming in through the window. After adjusting to the light, he sat up.

As the blanket slid off his body, his well-defined chest muscles were exposed, with a few unexpected scratches etched across his skin.

Memories slowly came back to him. It seemed like he had done something unbelievable last night.

The lingering sensation on his fingertips, the release of tension, and the exhilaration in every breath made him feel both excited and trembling with an unexplainable thrill.

He couldn’t recall the woman’s appearance, but one thing was certain: It wasn’t that woman named Bessa.

Fei Xiu rolled out of bed, not bothering to put on clothes, and immediately checked the surveillance.

There were no signs of anyone breaching the sealed manor, and during that time, no suspicious person had entered his room. But what he experienced was definitely not a dream.

Who was she? How had she appeared in the locked-down manor?

Fei Xiu put on a robe and soon noticed how clean and dry his body felt, as though someone had carefully wiped him down.

This situation reminded him of his robot; Every time he passed out, she would always take care of him like this.

Of course, he didn’t suspect that the woman was his robot, but he had a feeling she might know something.

Fei Xiu went downstairs, and the dining table was already set with a steaming hot breakfast.

The robot came out of the kitchen and called out, “Master, perfect timing. Come have your meal.”

Fei Xiu noticed his robot was wearing a pink apron, and her entire body seemed to gleam as if she had been polished.

“Unit One, did you give yourself a beauty treatment?” Fei Xiu casually asked as he pulled out a chair to sit.

Yuan Chu: “...No.” She had merely absorbed some fortune.

“After I locked down the manor yesterday, did you see anyone else come in? Or perhaps, was someone hiding inside the manor?”

“No.” Yuan Chu felt she obviously didn’t count as someone else.

Fei Xiu frowned and asked again, “Did you notice anything unusual happen in my room last night?”

Yuan Chu: “...I was offline.” This wasn’t exactly a lie, when she transformed, the robot was indeed in an offline state.

Fei Xiu wasn’t convinced.

“Was it you who brought me back to bed? Were you the one who cleaned my body?”

Yuan Chu: “...Yes.”

“You really didn’t see anything?”

“That’s a rather vague question. What does Master think I should have seen?”

Fei Xiu: “...Never mind. Forget it.”
