Chapter 4 (Part 1)

The next day, Seol woke up and looked around. Both of the men were gone.

'When I was sleeping, it was nice being warm on the front and back...'

'Those two, do they usually wake up together?' Seol squinted her eyes. A glance at the clock on the nightstand jolted her out of her reverie.

"Ten o'clock?!"

She had to be at work at 8:30. Seol staggered out of bed and jumped.

"They're crazy, I'm crazy, why didn't they wake me up"

As she searched for her clothes, the door opened.

"You up?"

Seol exclaimed in panic at the sound of Leon's relaxed voice.

"What about my clothes? We're late!"

"No, the teams move separately, so you're not late. Besides, Seol has a separate mission, right? It's okay to move autonomously."

Leon's words made Seol's shoulders sag in relief.

"Oh, so that's what it is, thank goodness."

"Then, get dressed and come out. If you don't want me all over you first thing in the morning."

Seol suddenly realized she was naked and whirled around. "Where are my- where are my clothes?"

"I've left your uniform behind. The uniform is uncomfortable, so you can take anything from my closet and put it on."

And with that, Leon slammed the door. Seol sighed and opened the door to a nearby closet. Leon's taste was more modest than she expected.

She hesitated, then found a solid-colored T-shirt and a pair of shorts with a drawstring waist. Her underwear was already laid out to one side. Quickly grabbing her underwear, she went into the bathroom, stood up, and washed herself.

The marks of the night before were all over her body. She couldn't tell who had left them.

Feeling her face burning, Seol dried herself off and got dressed. Knowing she wasn't late gave her some peace of mind.

'What's that?'

The photo in the drawer caught her eye; It was a younger Leon and a girl, shoulder to shoulder, smiling broadly. They both had reedy, light-colored hair, so she knew they were brother and sister at a glance.

"Is this a picture of her sister?"

Seol left the room thinking that Leon must be more family-oriented than she thought.

"Did you wash everything?"

Leon asked, and Seol nodded and looked around the living room.

"What about Jean?"

"He went out at dawn. He's got a call."

"Are you sure we don't have to go?"

Seol asked, and Leon nodded.

"Let's have breakfast then."

Leon said and Seol nodded. By now, she was hungry. Leon sat her down at the table and quickly served her some food.

Freshly cooked rice, fluffy egg rolls, Moshi clam soup, and side dishes like stewed fish and anchovies.

Seol's eyes widened.

"Leon, you made all of this?"

"Yeah." Does she like rice? Or is it bread that she likes? But her name is Seol. (L)

In Rotteligo, Humans would have cursed their name for its lack of roots. But in Karbalaya, it doesn't matter.

They can choose whatever they want for their child's name from either the East or the West. As a result, they often followed their family's customs.

'Since the name 'Seol' sounds oriental, maybe she'll like this kind of food?' Leon thought, and he wasn't wrong.

"No! I love rice!" Seol smiled broadly as she said it. It had been a long time since she'd had a proper breakfast.

"The plate is pretty too!"

Seol admired the porcelain tableware that came in a set for one. Did Leon pay attention to these things? Or was it just that his ex-girlfriend...?

Tingling.

Somewhere in the back of her stomach tingled. Seol rubbed the back of her head. That's right. Leon would be good with a girl. He'd be gentle.

The way he escorts her around seems a bit experienced.

It will be more weird if he's unpopular. Wasn't everyone talking about him and Jean in the showers the other day?

The two men might be her first time, but for them, she might have been one of the many.

'But...'

Seol realized that she was growing fonder of them with each passing day.

'Well, is it natural for two males to be so nice to me?'

Even as she made excuses for herself, she couldn't help but feel bitter. Seol had a terrifying thought that once she broke up with them, she would never be able to date anyone else better.

"Why aren't you eating? Does it taste bad?"

Leon's cautious question jolted Seol out of her reverie and she shook her head.

"No, it's delicious."

"That's good."

"What about you, Leon? Let's eat together."

"I already ate."

Leon said and plopped down in a chair at the table.

"Enjoy your meal, My lady."

Seol smiled sheepishly. The rice was delicious, the egg roll was fluffy, and the seasoning was just right. The Moshi Clam soup was cool and refreshing. Seol could easily imagine Leon cooking it.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Because I like to look at people who eat deliciously."

"It's hard to eat when you look at me like that."

"I'm going to make some coffee, then," Leon responded and stood up to make it.

The smell of coffee filled the living room. Seol picked up the pace and finished her breakfast in no time.

"Isn't Leon leaving?"

"Are you?" Leon asked, placing the coffee in front of Seol.

"Me?" Seol repeated, and Leon smirked and pointed at her.

"Escort."

"What? I don't need that!"

"You need it, just in case."

Leon said, remembering his deceased comrade. He continued, "You'll have to stay at my place for two days."

"Yes? But I have to run that program."

"You can run it on my PC. It's working fine. Is there anything else you need?"

Seol thought for a moment and shook her head. Well, she can just retrieve the necessary programs from her server through the network. And if Leon and Jean felt the need to escort her, it must mean something.

"Will it be okay? I'm going to install a bunch of programs on your computer?"

"I don't care."

Leon said and laughed. As she finished her strong coffee, Seol asked.

"Leon."

"Huh?"

"What do you like about me?"

Leon blinked at the out-of-the-blue question.

"Just from the beginning?"

"Uh, not like that."

At Seol's words, Leon smiled deeply. It was a slightly different smile than his usual one.

"Other than that, what is?"

"What?"

"Do you think I'm just saying it out of thin air? Do you think I'm joking? Or do you think I don't mean it?"

Leon's reaction puzzled Seol.

"It's not that..."

"If not that, then what?"

His tone became a little colder, and she didn't know what to say, but eventually, she confessed it.

"It's weird, isn't it?"

"What?"

"Leon is cool!"

"Huh?"

"I wouldn't believe you if you said you fell in love with me at first sight!"

"Why?"

"Because Leon is cool! And, and, I'm so ordinary-"

'Oh, this sounds like I have really low self-esteem, this is not good.'

As Seol spoke, she felt more and more self-conscious, and her words became less and less coherent.

"Yeah, I'm cool." Leon rested his chin in his hand and smirked.

"And you're cute."

Seol's face flushed at his words.

"Really. I told you, you're cute from the first time I saw you. You're spunky, cute, eager, and strong, and I really like you. It was love at first sight, and you just get better every time I see you."

Seol's cheeks burned red.

"Me too... I like you too."

Leon's face flushed slightly at her confession.

"Good, then."

Seeing Leon blush made Seol feel even more embarrassed somehow, and something in her chest tickled her. She giggled.

It felt like such a rude thing to think about, even for a moment. And she felt stupid. Judging people on a whim and blaming Leon and Jean for her lack of confidence.

'Seol, let's reflect!' Seol took a deep breath and said.

"Then I'll get to work!"

"Yeah."

Leon nodded obediently. She pulled the VR out of her luggage. Seol was impressed upon connecting to Leon's network

"These are all the latest models, aren't they?"

"They're good enough, right?"

"Yes. More than good enough." Seol nodded. From then on, she concentrated on working hard on the program, even forgetting where she was.

Leon looked at Seol wearing his clothes.

'This is unexpectedly compelling to look at, isn't it?'

Leon despised people who wore other people's clothes without permission, but seeing Seol wearing his clothes made him think that it could not been better.

It's nice to smell his shampoo on her hair, and it's nice to have Seol in his own house.

When he realized she wasn't wearing a bra under her shirt, and her nipples were pointing out, his mouth watered.

Leon wanted to slip his hand under her T-shirt and suck and fondle her breasts to his heart's content.

'Am I in heat?' Leon thought to himself and checked his rut cycle, but he was still a long way off.

'I thought there was no such thing as love at first sight.'

Leon tore his eyes away from Seol, thinking that this was a new experience. While she was doing her thing, he should do his.

He summoned the bird's eye view of the Pleiades Cathedral.

"Pull up all maps within a one-kilometer radius."

At Leon's command, the AI unfolded the map into a 3D hologram. Leon's job was to find sniper spots and identify possible routes to hide in.

"Can you also show me the P.G.'s travel routes and shift times?"

Red lines were drawn here and there at his command. Leon cracked his neck and cleared his throat lightly. "Then let's get to work!"
