Mikayla cast a glance over, feeling both amused and inexplicably bittersweet as she said: "Tingbao seems to harbor quite a bit of hostility toward any pet that approaches you."
Qiao Sang looked down at Tingbao and, as if coming to a realization, offered comforting words: "Don't worry, my next contract page is reserved solely for you."
"Lei lei..."
Understanding her words, the yellow electrical arcs dancing across Tingbao's body dispersed.
Mikayla was taken aback for a moment before asking with a strange expression: "Do you happen to possess some sort of unique constitution that specifically attracts pets?"
Qiao Sang blanked out as well: "Can humans possess special constitutions like pets do?"
"If you don't have some sort of unique constitution, then why is an uncontracted Dragon-type pet clinging to you like this, and why was a Qingqing Ni willing to form a contract with you as well?" Mikayla's tone carried a slight trace of jealousy.
Back when she first learned that Qiao Sang had contracted a Qingqing Ni, she had only felt utter shock and disbelief, without feeling this bitter. But now, seeing an uncontracted Dragon-type pet terrified that another pet might snatch Qiao Sang away, she was genuinely feeling a bit sour.
After all, back when she was trying to contract her own Dragon-type pet, she had endured endless cold shoulders and rejections.
Even though she possessed extraordinary talent, came from a powerful background, and left her peers far behind, none of that had ever earned her a second glance from her Dragon-type pet initially.
Qiao Sang pondered for a moment before answering earnestly: "It might be due to my personal charisma."

As they conversed, the two arrived at the entrance of the villa.
A sudden, violent gust of wind whipped up, surging right through the cracks of the villa's front door and vanishing inside.
"Mei mei."
Meichouni held out the bouquet of flowers.
"For me?" Qiao Sang inquired.
"Mei mei." Meichouni nodded her head.
Accepting the bouquet, Qiao Sang first offered her thanks and then said: "You've already delivered two bouquets today."
"Mei mei~"
Meichouni scratched her head rather shyly.
Unable to stand watching Qiao Sang display such personal charisma among pets any longer, Mikayla pressed the password and stepped inside first.
"Are you giving me flowers because you want to form a contract with me?" Qiao Sang cut straight to the chase and asked.
"Lei lei..."
The moment those words left her mouth, Tingbao once again glared at Meichouni with an unfriendly expression.
"Mei mei..."
Meichouni hadn't expected the human before her to be so direct. She fell silent for a moment before nodding honestly.
"Lei lei!"
Instantly, crackling yellow electrical arcs surfaced across Tingbao's body.
"Mei mei!"
Frowning slightly, Meichouni sensed Tingbao's hostility and took a huge leap backward.
"Tingbao." Qiao Sang cautioned.
Tingbao turned his head, flashing a look that vividly screamed, You're actually scolding me for its sake?! Twisting out of her arms, he leaped down and rapidly scrambled into the house, looking thoroughly aggrieved and upset.
Qiao Sang: ...
Was I scolding him?
Was I?!
I merely called his name!
"I'm very sorry." Qiao Sang said, feeling a mild headache coming on.
"Mei mei."
Meichouni shook her head.
"I mean to say, if you want to form a contract with me, please don't waste your time on me."
Qiao Sang stated plainly: "I don't have any vacant contract pages right now, so I can't contract any pets. Even when my brain capacity breaks through in the future, I already have a partner I intend to contract with."
"Mei mei?"
Seemingly not surprised in the slightest, Meichouni let out a call while pointing in the direction Tingbao had just fled.
"Gang qiu."
Gangbao's voice suddenly echoed within her mind, providing the translation.
She's asking if the contract candidate is that Dragon-type creature that just left.
"That's right." Qiao Sang nodded.
"Lei lei..."
Tingbao, who was crouching by the doorframe eavesdropping, stared blankly at the slender silhouette in the distance. Realizing something, a look of deep regret surfaced on his face.
"Mei mei."
Meichouni flashed a smile and let out a call, indicating that it was no problem at all, even if she couldn't form a contract with her, she would still give her these flowers.
With that, she turned around and departed.
That should have cleared things up... Carrying the bouquet, Qiao Sang turned and stepped into the villa.
Seeing this, Tingbao's body stiffened, and he quickly scrambled away.
Qiao Sang closed the door behind her.
"Qing qing!"
Qingbao materialized a few meters away, pinching her nose while pointing at the bouquet with a thoroughly disgusted call.
Qiao Sang looked at the bouquet and nodded: "It is a bit stinky. Let's place it somewhere further away."
The moment her words fell, Qingbao eagerly used the wind to sweep the bouquet out toward the open-air training field.
"Where is Tingbao?" Qiao Sang looked around and inquired.
"Over there." Seated on the sofa in the living room while holding her phone, Mikayla gestured with her eyes toward the space behind the window curtains.
Following her line of sight, Qiao Sang saw Tingbao hiding behind the curtain, with only his tail sticking out.
Suddenly, his head poked out slightly. Seeing his Beast Tamer looking directly at him, Tingbao's body froze. Then, as if plucking up all his courage, he crawled out in the open.
Just as he was about to make a sound, Qiao Sang explained: "Earlier, I was only explaining to Meichouni that I already have a partner I want to contract with so she wouldn't keep sending flowers over. Calling your name was only because I didn't want you discharging electricity at the drop of a hat."
"Lei lei..."
Tingbao blanked out for a moment, then awkwardly nodded his head and let out a call, indicating that he understood.
Following that, he shuffled over to where Qiao Sang was standing, climbing right up her leg.
His temper might be a bit short, but he's quite reasonable, and he's easy to coax... Qiao Sang marveled internally, scooping Tingbao up into her arms.
Mikayla shifted her gaze away, looking as though the display was almost too unbearable to watch.
Holding Tingbao, Qiao Sang walked over to sit on the sofa, picked up the remote control beside her, and switched on the television.
She recalled Professor Mikayla mentioning that Flame Star had numerous battle channels. Speaking of which, despite having been here for two days, she hadn't actually watched any of Flame Star's battle channels yet...
The moment the screen lit up, the host inside could be heard announcing:
"In the coming days, the 'Contract Synergy Tournament' will be held! Any Beast Tamer and pet looking to form a contract are eligible to register and participate. There are no age restrictions, as long as you are a Beast Tamer, you can join. For the grand champion, we will cover one full year of breeding expenses following your contract finalization! For the runner-up and third-place winners, we will provide six months of breeding expenses after you contract!"
"Registration opens tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM, and the registration website is..."
"You can participate in this tournament." Mikayla suddenly spoke up.
"What exactly is the Contract Synergy Tournament? I haven't quite figured it out." Qiao Sang asked.
"It's precisely the type of competition I mentioned to you previously." Mikayla explained.
"Some Beast Tamers and pets enter battle competitions before finalizing their contract to see whether they possess good synergy and get along well. Tournaments and events like this are quite common on Flame Star."
"Tingbao has also reached the stage where he can begin training. You can take him to participate and check it out."
Pausing for a beat, she cast an imperceptible glance at Tingbao and added: "Quite a few wild pets seeking a contract will be spectating this tournament. If you feel that your synergy with Tingbao during battle isn't quite right, you can reconsider the matter of forming a contract."
