Qiao Sang finished her breakfast amidst their casual chitchat.

Mikayla glanced at the empty air beside them.

"Wait!" Qiao Sang called out just in time.

Mikayla looked over.

Qiao Sang stood up and quickly walked back to her room. Before long, she returned holding the pet egg and placed her backpack next to Lubao.

Lubao leaped up and actively jumped inside.

Shouldering the bag, Qiao Sang said: "I'm ready."

The moment the words left her mouth, everything before her eyes went black.

When light returned, she found herself standing at the entrance of a spacious item room.

A few students were passing by in the corridor. They weren't surprised by the people and pets materializing out of thin air, giving them a casual glance. However, when their gazes landed on Little Treasure, many of them showed startled and uncertain expressions, and some even pulled out their phones.

Great, another bunch of people mistaking Little Treasure... Qiao Sang complained internally while keeping a straight face.

"Xun xun..."

Little Treasure was clearly aware of what those looks meant. His cheeks puffed up with anger, and he concealed his form.

Knock, knock. Mikayla rapped on the door twice, pushed it open, and walked in.

Qiao Sang followed closely behind and shut the door.

"You're here." The white-haired old man, who was currently instructing his pet on dissolving a certain ore, raised his head and gave a lukewarm greeting.

Then, he fixed his gaze on Qiao Sang, his expression shifting to one of absolute novelty: "So this is the student from the Imperial Class who became a B-class Beast Tamer at 17?"

"That's right." Mikayla nodded.

"Hello, Teacher." Qiao Sang said politely.

The white-haired old man scrutinized the young girl in front of him several times, asking curiously: "How do you usually train your brain domain? Do you solely rely on meditation?"

Qiao Sang gave an "mm": "But I did drink a bottle of Veil Potion when I was on Chaosu Star before."

What does a bottle of Veil Potion matter? Almost every student at the Imperial Beast University has taken it... The old man stopped questioning further and instead said: "I heard you want to forge an item. What material is it?"

His tone was so soft that it was actually a lot gentler than how he treated Mikayla.

Could this teacher have some sort of grievance with Teacher Mikayla... Qiao Sang thought to herself while nodding toward the spot next to her where Little Treasure was hiding.

"Xun xun~"

Little Treasure revealed himself, took off his round ring, and rummaged around inside.

The old man froze for a moment as he stared at Little Treasure, and then his face filled with astonishment: "That Ghost Ring King who stripped someone's clothes off and dumped them at the police station?"

Qiao Sang: ...

Little Treasure: ...

"It's not him" Mikayla said calmly.

"I've been taking Qiao Sang to train in the Dragon Nation for the past period, and we only just got back yesterday."

The old man ignored Mikayla and instead smiled at Qiao Sang, saying: "Looking exactly like a pet with a bounty on its head is no good thing. I hope that Ghost Ring King gets caught soon."

He definitely has a grievance with Teacher Mikayla... Qiao Sang nodded and said: "I hope so too."

During their conversation, Little Treasure found the pouch containing the Ancient Ghost Gold and handed it over.

The old man took it, opened it for a glance, and then looked at Little Treasure, saying: "I see. You want to forge an item for this Ghost Ring King."

With that, he looked back at Qiao Sang and inquired: "What kind of item do you want to forge?"

Qiao Sang thought about it and said: "Something close-fitting that he can carry at all times, but not the kind of item that fits seamlessly to his current body size, because my Ghost Ring King is about to evolve, and his body shape will change by then."

"It would be best if the style is a bit exquisite. My Ghost Ring King likes good-looking things. As for the function, I just hope it allows his energy to be absorbed a bit faster."

"Xun xun~"

Little Treasure nodded with a face full of agreement.

His Tamer's words spoke right to his heart.

"Understood." The old man said.

"Come back in half a month."

His tone had suddenly grown quite cold.

The change in attitude was so abrupt that Qiao Sang felt somewhat bewildered, not knowing which sentence she had said wrong. For the moment, she didn't dare ask about how many credits it would cost, deeply afraid that he might be in a bad mood right now and hike up the price on her all at once.

"Then we'll take our leave first." Mikayla said.

The old man waved his hand rather dismissively.

---

After leaving the item room, on the way to the Imperial Class area, Qiao Sang couldn't suppress her curiosity and inquired: "Does Teacher Grover have a bad relationship with you?"

Mikayla sighed: "It's not that he has a bad relationship with me; he has a bad relationship with the teachers and students of our entire Imperial Class."

Huh? Qiao Sang froze for a moment.

Wasn't it said that the Imperial Class is the most badass class in the entire Imperial Beast University?

Before she could ask, Mikayla continued:

"Our Imperial Class targets the Interstellar Cup, so naturally, the major competitions we participate in have nothing to do with items. During our usual experiential training, the use of items is strictly forbidden. Grover wanted to manufacture items for the students of our Imperial Class several times in the past, but he was always rejected. One teacher even said right in front of him, 'Items are useless, one's own strength is the hard truth.' This sentence directly ticked him off. There was also a student who accepted his item, but turned around and sold it for a high price in credits."

"Ever since then, he hasn't thought much of anyone from our Imperial Class."

This... Qiao Sang was dumbfounded as she listened, saying hesitantly: "Then is it still appropriate for me to look for him to manufacture my item?"

"Did you see him refuse?" Mikayla looked over and smiled.

"The more someone is denied, the more they want to gain recognition. Don't worry, he will manufacture the item you want properly, and he will be very earnest about it."

Qiao Sang felt relieved, and then she thought of something, asking: "I saw that Teacher Grover quite liked me at the beginning. Why did he seem to dislike me later too?"

"That's because the requirements you set for the item were too simple." Mikayla said.

"Even a student from the Item Department could achieve the requirements you mentioned."

After a pause, she added: "However, he does think quite highly of you. He probably heard about your deeds too."

Saying this, she laughed: "I also didn't expect that he would be the one taking over your item forging this time. I thought he would never help anyone from the Imperial Class forge items again."

Hey hey hey, that's not what you said earlier... Qiao Sang complained internally and asked again: "People from the Imperial Class don't use items during experiential training. Is it appropriate for me to use one then?"

Mikayla smiled: "You are still a long way off from the Interstellar Cup."

Meaning, it was still too early for that.

Qiao Sang: ...

---

Under the azure sky lay a rear garden that looked like a fairytale.

The familiar pavilion came into view.

From a distance, a lady with half-white hair, fair skin, and distinct wrinkles could be seen sitting inside.

"The Dean is inside. Go on over." Mikayla said.

"Aren't you coming along?" Qiao Sang asked.

Mikayla said: "The Dean wants to see you, not me."

With that, she vanished into thin air on the spot.

Qiao Sang: ...

Qiao Sang let out a slow breath, straightened her posture, and walked toward the pavilion, saying respectfully: "Hello, Dean."

"Sit." Dean Theresa pointed with her eyes at the tea in front of her.

"Have a taste. It was specially prepared for you."

Qiao Sang felt somewhat overwhelmed by the favor. She placed the pet egg on the round table, picked up the teacup, and took a sip.

Dean Theresa glanced at the pet egg and smiled: "This must be the Little Thunder Dragon's egg."

"Yes." Qiao Sang nodded.

Dean Theresa said: "Our school has a research project that can test whether a pet is pureblood while it is still inside its egg. You can take the Little Thunder Dragon's egg to be tested."

Qiao Sang hesitated: "Will this cause any harm to the pet egg?"

"It's just a scan and test using an instrument, there won't be any harm." Dean Theresa answered.

This research is great. I thought the school only had instruments that test how long it takes for a pet to hatch... Qiao Sang marveled inwardly.

"However, it costs 100 credits per test." Dean Theresa added.

Qiao Sang instantly straightened up and said seriously: "Actually, whether the Little Thunder Dragon is pureblood isn't important to me. As long as it hatches smoothly, that's enough."

The moment she finished speaking, the Little Thunder Dragon's egg gave an imperceptible wobble.

The magnitude of the wobble was incredibly small, but it was clear as day to both Dean Theresa and Qiao Sang.

"Is it about to hatch?" Qiao Sang's attention was instantly drawn over, and she said in pleasant surprise.

"Dragon-type pet eggs take a long time to hatch. It might have heard our voices and given a response." Dean Theresa said.

Qiao Sang couldn't help but feel curious: "Can pets inside their eggs really hear our voices and understand them?"

"That depends on the species' IQ and their inherent bloodline abilities." Dean Theresa explained patiently.

"Some pets can understand human conversations or sense the good and evil of the outside world while still in their eggs. If it's someone it dislikes, it will subconsciously reject the person it sees after breaking its shell. Meanwhile, some pets just don't know anything, and they naturally develop affection for the first living creature they see upon breaking out."

Qiao Sang inexplicably thought of Little Treasure when he first came out of his egg.

"Xun xun..."

At the same time, Little Treasure couldn't resist revealing himself, curiously sizing up the pet egg through the protective device.

Qiao Sang pulled her thoughts back and returned to the main topic: "Dean, did you call me here for something specific?"

"I heard you haven't exchanged for any items yet." Dean Theresa asked.

"Are you unsatisfied with the items in the credit exchange column?"

"No." Qiao Sang said.

"It's just that this qualification for exchange is too precious. I want to exchange for one that suits me best. The things in the credit exchange column are all very good, but there isn't one that suits me best at this current stage."

Dean Theresa asked: "What kind of function do you want the item to have?"

Qiao Sang pondered for a moment, then said: "It would be best if it's an item that can detect a pet's next stage, even if this pet is a new form and its next evolved form has never appeared before."

Dean Theresa fell silent.

After about a few seconds, she said: "The future can be foreseen, but the unknown is very hard to predict. I think you can choose an item with a different function to exchange."

Qiao Sang asked: "Then is there any item that can bring someone back to life, or allow a person's brain domain to rapidly increase at the 59% stage without any side effects?"

Dean Theresa couldn't help but squeeze her teacup, though she still maintained her grandmaster demeanor on the surface: "No."

Qiao Sang showed a disappointed expression: "Then I'll still wait a bit longer to see if something suitable for me appears in the future."

After a pause, she asked: "Dean, did you look for me just to ask about this matter?"

"The Energy Bath will open in a week, and I've applied for a slot for you." Dean Theresa said.

"When the time comes, have the Steel Sword Falcon go inside. Since it has already undergone a temporary evolution once, it can completely absorb the energy without side effects to directly break through the upper limit and evolve into the next stage."

Qiao Sang's first thought was: Holy crap, an Energy Bath with the exact same function as Planet Hyperion's Energy Pool?

Her second thought was: Her credits! She bought those two shortening potions too early!

Controlling her facial expression, she asked: "How many credits are needed?"

Dean Theresa glanced at her: "Free."

Qiao Sang immediately offered up flattery: "The Dean is so magnificent!"

Dean Theresa smiled and said: "You contracted a legendary pet in the Dragon Nation this time and became a B-class Beast Tamer in one fell swoop, gaining massive rewards. The Energy Bath is merely helping you shorten the time spent nurturing your pet. In itself, whenever a student of the Imperial Class makes a massive contribution, they can obtain an opportunity to go to the Energy Bath."

Qiao Sang offered up flattery once more: "That's also thanks to the Dean helping me apply for it."

Dean Theresa smiled: "Where is the Qinyin Fairy? I haven't seen this legendary pet yet."

Qiao Sang immediately called out: "Qingbao."

"Qing qing." A gust of wind blew in from outside the pavilion, transforming into Qingbao.

Dean Theresa's eyes lit up, and she couldn't resist reaching out to stroke it.

Qingbao stood there completely well-behaved and let itself be stroked without moving.

Once Dean Theresa had stroked it enough, she smiled: "I have no other matters."

Meaning, you can go now.

Qiao Sang didn't move, looking at her as if she wanted to say something but hesitated.

"Do you have something on your mind?" Dean Theresa asked.

Qiao Sang finally spoke up: "Dean, could you give me some credits?"

Dean Theresa looked at her: "Not enough credits to use?"

No, Teacher Mikayla told me to ask you for them... Qiao Sang's conscience wasn't entirely gone, so she didn't sell Mikayla out, saying: "How could credits ever be enough?"

Dean Theresa thought it over: "You became a B-class Beast Tamer at 17, which counts as breaking the record for the youngest B-class Beast Tamer in history. Let's do this: I'll give you 10,000 credits."

Qiao Sang: !!!

"The Dean is so generous!"

---

1:00 PM.

Qiao Sang was humming a song lightly, arriving at the breeding room where Teacher Flauda was located in an excellent mood. It formed a stark contrast with Little Treasure's worried face beside her.

Seeing Qiao Sang, Flauda smiled and said: "You seem to be in a very good mood."

"I met the great Dean Theresa this morning and had a friendly conversation with her." Qiao Sang said.

Dean Theresa... Flauda froze at first, then said with a smile: "I can tell you had a very pleasant conversation."

Saying this, he looked at Little Treasure next to her again and asked: "The Ghost Ring King seems to be in a very bad mood. What's wrong?"

"Xun xun..."

Little Treasure wore an expression that said it's a long story.

Qiao Sang instantly pulled back her smile and said: "Isn't it because of that wanted Ghost Ring King? Quite a few people in the school mistook him today."

What she didn't mention was that after returning home from the Dean's place this morning, she and Little Treasure had tried to look for the Clothes-Changing Totem, but unfortunately, they came up empty-handed.

"Isn't that simple? Just catch that Ghost Ring King." Flauda said.

Qiao Sang sighed: "How could it be that simple."

"Xun xun..." Little Treasure sighed in synchronization.

Flauda thought about it and said: "Do you have credits on hand right now?"

Qiao Sang nodded: "Yes."

"Go find the people from the News Department, they have the strongest information channels there. Or go find a Beast Tamer from the Mechanical Department who has a Guinauke to help you."

Qiao Sang froze for a moment: "Guinauke?"

"It's a Mechanical-type pet that can travel through various networks." Flauda remembered something and said:

"Your admission notice back then, wasn't it delivered straight to you through the computer screen by a Mechanical-type pet?"

Qiao Sang nodded: "Yes."

"That pet is called Guilunsaier, and it is the Emperor-level form of the Guinauke." Flauda said.
