I won. I really won…
Qiao Sang suppressed her excitement, waved her hand, and recalled Yabao back into the Beast Codex.
To be honest, this assessment had been more difficult than she expected, probably because the previous professional Beast Master assessments had been so easy that they gave her the wrong impression.
But the moment this one started, she realized she was wrong.
Especially the team battle portion. Not only could beasts unleash combo skills themselves, but when two beasts paired up, they could trigger techniques that drew on the power of nature, such as Heavenly Thunder.
If Yabao hadn’t seized the gap, teleporting to the Skyfighting Eagle’s side and dragging it under Heavenly Thunder, grievously wounding it, and if Little Treasure hadn’t taken that chance to bind the Thundercrash Head and let it be struck down by its own thunder, then her second assessment’s outcome would’ve been uncertain.
“Xun xun!”
Little Treasure, hearing the assessment was complete, happily blinked back to his Beast Master’s side.
“Well done.” Qiao Sang praised.
“Xun xun~”
Little Treasure brushed back his hair proudly, as if saying: Basic stuff.
The middle-aged examiner recalled his Skyfighting Eagle and Thundercrash Head into the Codex, then walked toward her. His eyes were complicated as he said:
“The results will be notified by text within seven working days. After that, you can visit any Beast Center to update your badge.”
So that’s the level of B-rank Beast Masters, different even in the badge change process compared to lower levels. Qiao Sang sighed inwardly, then nodded. “Alright.”
“You…” The man hesitated, the words he wanted to say sticking in his throat. Instead, he asked: “Are you in college yet?”
Her age was too young for college, but given her strength, there was no way she was still in high school.
“Yes.” Qiao Sang nodded.
As he thought… The man asked: “Which top university?”
“Imperial Beast University.” She replied.
As expected. A monster like this had to come from the best university on Blue Star. He wasn’t surprised.
He smiled.
“I look forward to seeing you at the international tournaments.”
With that, he formed a seal, summoning a flying beast over seven meters long, and left.
All-Judge vanished as well.
International tournaments… Qiao Sang blinked.
It felt far too soon for her.
She quickly formed seals, summoning Yabao and Lubao.
Before Qiao Sang could even instruct her, Lubao lit up the jewel on her forehead, bathing Yabao in healing light.
“Yap!”
In no time, Yabao’s injuries vanished, and he sprang back up, brimming with energy.
“Yap?”
He glanced at the battlefield. The opponents were gone. Turning to Qiao Sang, he barked eagerly, asking if they’d won.
“We won.” Qiao Sang smiled.
Lubao swished her tail.
“Xun xun~”
Little Treasure floated over, coughed, and launched into a story about how he pulled off the substitute move at the critical moment.
“Yap!”
Yabao listened, then smacked him onto the ground with one careless paw.
Good job!
Little Treasure: …
“Let’s go.” Qiao Sang chuckled.
“Rest a bit, then head to the next city.”
International tournaments weren’t on her mind. Right now, her goal was the regional competition.
“Yap!”
“Lu Di.”
“Xun xun~”

At the Beast Center, third floor, public assessment office.
“You’re saying… you already passed?” The examiner stared at her, stunned.
“Mm,” Qiao Sang nodded.
“I won both matches. The official results will come in seven days. But could you call the examiner and confirm, so my task can be marked complete? I still have many tasks left, and I need to get to the next city quickly.”
Both matches won… The examiner sat in silence, letting it sink in.
She’d expected Qiao Sang might eventually pass, but not this soon. At not even eighteen years old, her strength leapt forward every few months. That’s why she had given her this task, assuming she’d finish near the regional competition.
That way, she’d be a stronger competitor by then. Even if she didn’t pass, she’d still gain valuable experience.
But in just one week, she had cleared it!
Was the B-rank assessment really this easy now? Or had the examiner gone easy on her because of her age?
No. Impossible. The whole test was synced to the Beast Alliance. No one would risk their career by faking results.
So Qiao Sang’s strength was already enough to meet B-rank standards.
A monster… Only a monster like her could contract with Qingqing Ni!
The examiner’s opinion of Qiao Sang soared several notches. She said seriously: “The examiner was sent by the Alliance. I don’t have his contact. Your task completion also requires the Alliance’s formal confirmation.”
“But don’t worry. Head to the next city. In a week I’ll check your records, once your badge updates, I’ll mark this complete. You don’t need to come back.”
“Thank you!” Qiao Sang said earnestly.
---
In the dormitory area, Qiao Sang knocked on Teacher Mikayla’s door.
The door opened.
Mikayla’s expression shifted when she saw her.
“You passed?” She asked carefully.
Qiao Sang grinned.
“That’s right, I won both. Teacher, are you packed?”
She peeked inside.
Mikayla turned, rolling out a suitcase with a smile.
“All set. Let’s go.”
Despite how difficult the B-rank assessment was, Qiao Sang had, in just a week, trained Fire Qilu to merge three fire skills, Fire Whirl, Illusion Flame, and Explosive Flame Bomb. In just two months of teaching, Mikayla had seen her student create miracle after miracle.
She sighed, finished packing, and handed the luggage to her Pet Beast, Spengami.
“Which city next?” Qiao Sang asked.
“Huantian City.”
Mikayla answered, then as usual asked, “Any thoughts about the assessment?”
Qiao Sang thought a moment.
“I still feel too weak.”
Mikayla: ???
“Even if I join the regional competition now, I might not do well,” Qiao Sang said.
“Once I finish all my tasks, I’ll focus on studying combo skills.”
The minimum requirement to register was C-rank, but only B-rank Beast Masters reached the later stages. Based on today’s standard, only Lubao was king-level. Not enough.
She didn’t expect Yabao or the others to evolve to king-level in a few months. The only way for General-level beasts to surpass limits was with combo skills.
“Teacher, what do you think?” She asked.
Expressionless, Mikayla said: “I think you should stop talking.”
Qiao Sang: ???

Huantian City, known as the City of Romance.
Every rooftop was filled with flowers, petals drifting with the breeze. Beautiful beyond words.
Compared to other cities, Huantian had more couples, and higher marriage rates. As locals joked: “In such an atmosphere, who could say no?”
When Qiao Sang stepped out of the aerial passage, seeing flowers fluttering everywhere, she realized it was true.
Birds and butterflies played among the blossoms.
She summoned her beasts.
“Yap!” Yabao barked happily at the sight.
“Xun xun!” Little Treasure instantly teleported into the flowers, dancing joyfully.
“Lu Di.” Lubao, for once, didn’t dive into the backpack. She quietly admired the scenery.
“Gang Zhan.” Gangbao flapped her wings, sweeping away the petals that landed on her head.
“Qing qing!” Qingbao, delighted, appeared on her own.
Not far away, a child cried out, “Mom, it’s Qingqing Ni!”
All eyes turned their way.
Qingbao vanished into the wind at once.
Qiao Sang stayed calm, calling: “Yabao.”
“Yap!”
Yabao understood. His body swelled larger.
Qiao Sang vaulted onto his back and followed Mikayla out of sight.
People hesitated, wanting to follow but too intimidated. They’d seen the star array’s color, this was a B-rank Beast Master.
---
On the way to the Beast Center, Mikayla suddenly asked: “Want to stroll around?”
Qiao Sang blinked.
“I haven’t picked up a task yet.”
Mikayla caught a pink petal in her hand, saying slowly: “Tasks can wait until tomorrow. Sometimes, you need rest during a journey.”
After a pause, she added: “You’ve already completed seven tasks. Only four left. No need to rush.”
“Xun xun!” Little Treasure nodded rapidly.
“Qing qing~” Qingbao reappeared, eyes shining with anticipation.
Qiao Sang checked her phone. “How about this, we’ll reach the Beast Center in thirty minutes. I’ll grab a task in ten, and then we can go shopping?”
“Xun xun!” Little Treasure nodded eagerly.
“Qing qing~” Qingbao swirled into a breeze across Qiao Sang’s cheek.
Mikayla fell silent. Her emotions were complicated.
Normally, that time management was perfect. But after Qiao Sang said earlier she felt weak, Mikayla couldn’t tell if she meant it, or if it was just humblebragging.
Either way, at this rate, Qiao Sang didn’t need her, she could reach the Interstellar Cup on her own.
Seeing Mikayla quiet, Qiao Sang thought she disapproved.
“Teacher, if you want to shop, we can go now.”
“No, pick up the task first. Shopping later is fine.”
Mikayla replied. Then she asked: “Have you decided what to redeem with your points?”
“No.” Qiao Sang shook her head.
“The items are good, but not urgent. I’ll wait until I really need something or until new items refresh.”
Such a well-planned child… Mikayla gazed at the sky, suddenly feeling wistful.

Half an hour later.
Beast Center, third floor, public office.
What kind of genius is this…?
An old man with gray hair, looking about seventy, read her records. After a pause, he raised his eyes, full of awe.
“You’re the youngest C-rank Beast Master I’ve ever seen.”
No, I’m about to be B-rank. Qiao Sang thought.
“I don’t have many tasks left here.” The old man said, scanning the list.
After about a minute, he looked up.
“On Cluster Flower Street, the fallen petals haven’t been cleared for a while. Go check why and resolve it.”
Qiao Sang hesitated.
“Aren’t petals usually cleaned?”
He chuckled.
“In other cities, yes. But here, flowers fall constantly, you can’t clean them fast enough. Underground, a colony of Scent-Eater Ants usually handles it. They feed on the petals.”
“I see. Are they wild beasts?” She asked.
“Of course not.” He looked at her oddly.
“They’re from breeding bases or private shops, under contract with the government.”
Catching the key point, Qiao Sang asked: “Which base or shop manages the Cluster Flower Street ants?”
“That’s for you to find out.” The old man said strictly.
“I only issue the tasks.”
“I understand.” Qiao Sang retrieved her ID card and badge.
