Chapter 2: How the affair was discovered

If I were to lose her, my wife would definitely notice. Losing her...I think losing her means not knowing where she is and not knowing if she's alive or dead. 

If you think about it, isn't this a word used by the "wife's side"? Because it's me, I know where she is and if she's alive or dead.

This is "escape". Although I'm an amateur, I am a novelist. I want to use words correctly. I want to use them with intention. I ran away from my wife. I ran away from my home. I ran away from my family. 

I ran away from my children, my parents, my parents-in-law. I left everything behind, my company, my friends, and ran away. This is the story of my escape.

I found out my wife was cheating because our child got sick. My wife was working part-time until 3pm on the day I had paid leave off, so I ended up taking her to the hospital. 

She had a fever and a cough. She also had a bit of diarrhea, so just to be safe, my daughter had a blood test at the hospital. 

Luckily, it didn't seem to be too serious, and they gave her an injection, took some medicine, and told her she'd be fine if she just rested for a few days. 

They weighed her so she could get the medicine prescribed, and I thought the doctor was trustworthy and it was a pretty reputable hospital.

That's fine, but when I saw the weight, I thought my 3-year-old daughter had grown up. When I got home and looked at my daughter's face after she had taken her medicine and was asleep, I suddenly wanted to look at her maternal and child health handbook. 

I had heard her current weight at the hospital, so I wanted to compare it to her weight at birth. It was just that. But when I saw it, I noticed something.

It said my daughter's blood type was O. I'm AB and my wife is O. It took me a while to realize that something was wrong. 

That's right, a couple with AB and O blood types will have children with A, B and AB blood types, but no children with O blood types will be born.

I did some research on blood types. 

Recently, many hospitals don't test blood types immediately after birth, but the hospital where my daughter was born seems to have done so. 

The reason blood types exist in the first place is that ABO blood types have differences in antibodies, and if you have antibodies to type A, you're type A, if you have antibodies to type B, you're type B, if you have antibodies to both, you're type AB, and if you have neither, you're type O.

Strictly speaking, my wife's type O is OO, and my type AB is still AB. Of these, only one element is passed on to our children. 

With AB and OO types, there are only three possible combinations: AA with type A, AO with type A, BO with type B, and AB with type AB. Type O cannot be type O without the OO element. As I don't have any type O elements, we can't have a type O child.

In other words, my daughter may not be my daughter. I felt nauseous and threw up in the toilet for a while. I didn't know if this was reality. 

I threw up everything I had eaten at lunch and continued to throw up until stomach acid came out. Gastric acid is yellow.

My wife came home after 4 p.m., but I didn't know what to say. When she got home, the first thing she said was to ask how our daughter was. 

I told her that I had taken her to the hospital and that she would get better if she slept, and she smiled and said, "That's good."

That smile looked natural, so I was devastated that he was a liar. Or maybe he cared about his daughter and didn't care about me. 

I felt like 8 years of our marriage had been denied. If the affair was true, I wanted to run away from this house. I would check, but at this point I had decided to run away from my wife.
