The more Qiao Sang thought about it, the more likely it seemed that there was an extraordinary creature involved.
Whenever she browsed the internet, she would often come across netizens sharing strange occurrences they encountered at home.
For instance, someone's house phone would ring for no reason, and when they answered, no one was on the other end.
After this happened multiple times, they simply disconnected the phone line. Yet, the phone continued to ring occasionally.
It wasn’t until the inspection department came to check that they found an electric bell spirit had gotten inside the phone.
There were also stories of people looking into mirrors and not seeing their own reflection.
Or waking up to find all their hair gone.
Without exception, these incidents were caused by extraordinary creatures.
After a moment of contemplation, Qiao Sang headed to the courtyard by the pool with Yabao.
Water is easily associated with water-type extraordinary creatures, so her first thought was a place with water. In the house, the most obvious place was the pool.
As soon as she saw the pool, Qiao Sang felt confident her guess was almost right.
Yesterday, when Yabao unleashed many of his clones, they crazily tossed sparks into the pool.
The water had evaporated, leaving most of the pool empty. She hadn't had the chance to refill it yet.
But now, the pool was almost overflowing, with no signs that the water had decreased at all.
Staring at the pool for a while, Qiao Sang turned and headed back to the bedroom.
"Yap?"
Yabao followed her into the room, looking confused. He didn’t understand why his Beast Master was walking back and forth.
Although their bond had grown stronger since Yabao evolved into a Flame Hound, making him more attuned to Qiao Sang’s thoughts, he still couldn’t always know what she was thinking unless she said it out loud.
"If my guess is right, there should be a water-type pet beast in our house, and the water on you is probably its doing." Qiao Sang explained as she sat on the edge of the bed.
Yabao blinked in surprise, his eyes instantly blazing with fire.
Little Treasure curiously looked around, as if searching for the water-type pet beast nearby.
"Don’t worry, I’ll call the inspection department to come over." Qiao Sang said, reaching for her phone.
Of course, the first thing to do when encountering a wild extraordinary creature in the city is to call the inspection department.
She wasn’t a professional Beast Master, so who would be foolish enough to handle it themselves?
Qiao Sang had never considered keeping this wild pet beast for herself.
Some Beast Masters without the funds to buy a pet beast might try to find a way to make a contract with one.
But as someone about to come into a 5 million asset, with her first extraordinary Flame Hound and her second Treasure-Seeking ghost both being exceptionally gifted, there was no way she’d casually contract a third one.
Besides, her Beastmaster Codex didn’t even have a third page yet.
They didn’t even know what kind of pet beast this one was or whether it was dangerous. The best course of action was to let the inspection department handle it.
Just as she dialed the first two digits of the inspection department’s number, a red-furred paw pressed down on her hand.
“Yap!”
Qiao Sang looked up to see Yabao shaking his head, full of indignation.
"Yap! Yap Yap!"
Qiao Sang paused for a moment.
"You’re saying you want to find it yourself and teach it a lesson?"
“Yap!”
Yabao's eyes blazed with determination, vowing to find the culprit and fight it for three hundred rounds!
“Xun Xun!”
Xun Bao raised his milk bottle, shouting his support, clearly eager to stir up more trouble.
Qiao Sang was silent for a couple of seconds. Well, this might work.
So far, the unknown pet beast had only soaked Yabao without causing any real harm, indicating that its temperament wasn’t violent.
Also, high-level pet beasts were typically large in size.
But since they hadn’t seen a trace of this pet beast, it was probably small in size and not particularly strong.
With that in mind, Qiao Sang stood up decisively.
"Alright, we’ll handle it ourselves!"
“Yap!”
“Xun!”
One person and two beasts stormed towards the courtyard with fierce determination.
---
At the pool.
"This should be it." Qiao Sang nodded at Yabao.
“Yap!”
Yabao immediately summoned all his clones, surrounding the pool and firing Ember into the water.
With the main body nearby boosting the power, the Embers were far more potent than they had been the previous day.
In no time, half of the pool’s water had evaporated.
But aside from that, nothing happened. There was no water-type pet beast being blasted out of the water, as Qiao Sang had imagined.
Could she have guessed wrong? That didn’t seem right...
Yanao didn’t doubt that the culprit was in the pool. If his Beast Master said it was there, then it was definitely there.
“Yap!”
Seeing that the Embers had no effect, Yabao's gaze grew even sharper.
All 15 clones disappeared simultaneously.
The next second, an energy orb, brimming with immense power, began forming in front of it.
Seeing this, Qiao Sang quickly retreated under the eaves with Little Treasure, her voice filled with concern.
"Just be sure to control where the meteor rain lands."
One of the best things about this house was the spacious, barren courtyard, with no plants to worry about.
It was the perfect place to practice large-area attack skills like Meteor Rain.
When they moved, they would just need to hire a Beast Master with a ground-type pet beast to refurbish the place.
But this was Ya bao's first time using Meteor Rain since evolving into a Flame Hound.
While Qiao Sang wasn’t too concerned about his power, she worried he might miss the mark…
If the energy orb hit the house, she wouldn’t even have a place to cry.
Yabao blinked to show he understood, unable to speak while concentrating on the energy orb.
Meanwhile, a small ripple formed in a puddle a few meters from the pool.
An eye quietly opened within the water.
It stared intently at the energy orb rising into the sky.
A sense of intense unease washed over it.
Just as it contemplated moving, the fire rain burst open, with dozens of fireballs streaking across the sky, trailing red flames.
One of them landed right in front of the creature.
Qiao Sang gazed up at the meteor rain covering most of the courtyard. Both its quantity and the size of each flame had noticeably improved.
The fire rained down, with searing energy scorching the ground.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Several explosions rocked the ground, sending dirt and stones flying like arrows in every direction.
Blazing flames spread out wildly, with tongues of fire licking the earth.
Even from a distance, Qiao Sang could feel the scorching heat waves rushing towards her.
She stared in awe at the large section of shattered ground.
She was confident that even if she were to compete against Litan’s Beast Master School right now, with this Meteor Rain, she would be invincible.
The strongest students at Beast Master Academy mostly had mid-level pet beasts, and how many mid-level beasts could learn high-level skills?
"Yap..."
Ya Bao was equally stunned by the destruction.
Was he really this powerful?
When the meteor rain finally ceased, both Qiao Sang and Yabao were still overwhelmed by the Meteor Rain’s power.
"Xun! Xun Xun!"
At that moment, Little Treasure pointed excitedly to a spot.
Qiao Sang snapped back to reality and looked in the direction he was pointing.
Lying there was a light blue pet beast, about 30 centimeters long.
