Seol opened her eyes, feeling her whole body drowsy. The quilt she was laying on smelled delightful. As she rubbed her cheek against its coolness, she realized, 'This is not my quilt.'
Her quilt is silk. But this one—she widened her eyes and realized it wasn't pink, but pure white. She stared at it in a daze, mesmerized by the smoothness of the cotton quilt.
Slowly, the memories of yesterday came flooding back. Seol pulled the quilt over her head.
In Karim, estrus/heat is reserved for females. They had their estrus periods, like menstruation, and only they knew when they could get pregnant. And even if they did conceive a child, it could be absorbed by their stomach.
So when it came to sex, Karims were more flexible than human beings. For better or worse, they also had no morals for sex, so Seol didn't feel too guilty about sleeping with two men.
Seol could imagine throwing herself in the break room and saying, "I'm crazy, I'm crazy! I'm in heat, I'm running around unmedicated. I'm a pain in the ass, I'm an inconvenience to both of you!"
But instead, Leon and Jean were kind enough to 'embrace' her. They were very kind. It's the kind of kindness that means they can't leave a sick person behind, but even so, to her teammates.
Seol groaned and kicked her feet a few times under the blankets. Her estrus was completely different from what she had learned in her textbooks. It felt like sperm and egg meet to make a child, which is how she had learned about sex, and then realized what sex was really like.
Before their estrus period, Karims were uninterested in sex and Seol's knowledge of sex was limited to what she had learned from textbooks.
'I slept with them, with them-!' Seol wonders how she can remember everything that happened so clearly. She wishes she could erase it.
Just then, there was a soft knock on the door and Leon's cheerful voice came in.
"Seol, get up, stop kicking off the blanket covers, and come out. Let's have breakfast."
Seol felt like her whole body was on fire. "Yes, yes, yes-" She softly replied, her white ears perking up to catch a small chuckle from the outside.
As soon as Leon left the doorway, Seol bolted upright in her seat. "I'm wearing a big pajamas." Probably Leon's.
The pajamas are long and big enough to reach mid-thigh even with just the top on. Seol looked around the room. Her clothes were folded neatly on the nightstand.
"They even washed them." She couldn't afford to be embarrassed anymore. The clothes were immaculate as if they had just been through the dryer.
In the room's en-suite bathroom, Seol took a quick shower and dressed in her clothes, then opened the bedroom door.
She saw two people bustling around in the kitchen, which was connected to the living room. Surprised, Seol rushed over.
"Hey, I'll help."
Leon, who was baking hotcakes on the stove facing the living room, smiled.
"It's okay." Dressed in plain clothes, Leon had his light brown hair tied back in a half-bun. He even has a black apron tied around his waist. He looked like he'd just stepped out of a magazine.
Jean, who was making a salad in the back, came over and asked her. Seol could tell he was barefoot.
"How are you feeling? Are you okay?"
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine, both of you—I'm sorry about yesterday, I'm sorry!" A groggy Seol apologized.
"Enough apologizing," Jean said with a sigh. Seol hung her head in defeat. Just when she thought she was close to being recognized, she was going to be demoted again. She might not be able to stay on the Alpha team.
Seol's mind suddenly went blank. What if she gets kicked out for this?
Jean touched her forehead, concerned about her condition.
"What's wrong? It's your first estrus period, is it too much? You don't feel sore or anything? I don't think you have a fever."
His voice was full of concern, and she couldn't help but feel even more pathetic.
"No, I'm fine, it's just that I feel so pathetic about myself..." Seol shook her head and said.
"It's okay. People make mistakes during their first estrus. Sometimes, even you might not recognize the signs." Leon comfortingly said. His amber eyes were still kind.
Seol glanced over at Jean, her ears drooped so low when Jean's gray-blue eyes looked down at her questioningly.
"What?"
"I, uh, am I being kicked off the team now?"
"......." Jean's mouth slightly dropped open, and Leon burst out laughing.
"Awww, Kikiki, so that's what you were worried about? We're not kicking you out. Don't worry."
"Really?" Seol's ears perked up again. Jean nodded.
"That's good to hear. Thank you." Seol broadly smiled.
"Kosaka once got into a fight with another team in a bar. He didn't get fired, though." Jean frowned at Leon's comment.
"He was disciplined,"
Leon said with a wry wink, "He still didn't get fired, and besides, Seol's the one with the power, right?" Seol patted her chest. (I think Leon means that Seol is their 'hacker' that can make their mission fail if she wants to.)
"I'll give you my laundry money and everything, just let me know." (Seol meant for the trouble they went through cleaning her things.)
Leon shook his head at Seol's comment. "Never mind, never mind. I am in a good mood." Leon's words made Seol blush.
Jean clicked his tongue. "You better be a little more careful next time."
"Yes." Seol ducked her head and replied in a low voice, knowing she had been careless.
Leon finished cooking the hotcakes, this time, he was cooking bacon on the cast iron skillet.
"Then sit tight, I'll be done in a minute."
"No, I want to do something-," Seol said, fidgeting, and Leon smirked.
"Then can you get the plates out of the cupboard over there?"
"Yeah!" Seol nodded. Seol reached for the cupboard, and Jean opened the cupboard door for her as she set the plate down.
Jean leaned in close, He smelled good. Seol felt her lower stomach throbbed and she blushed. 'I must be crazy,' She thought.
She remembered his panting face, his touch, and his body odor so clearly that she wanted to bang her head against the wall.
Seol grabbed the plates and ran toward Leon. As he placed the bacon on her plate, he whispered in her ear. "You smell like you're about to go in another heat."
"-!!" Seol flinched, her face turning bright red. If Karims had a tail, hers would have wagged. Seol then remembered Leon's voice, his breath, his kiss, and everything else.
Jean slapped Leon on the head with a thud.
"Ouch!"
Jean coldly said when Leon glared at him.
"No harassment."
"It's not harassment, it's the truth. Seol, it's okay, first estrus periods are weird. So your reactions are alright," Leon said, lightly stroking Seol's hair.
Seol nodded in response to his touch. It was the first time she'd ever been so sexually aroused, and she was embarrassed for herself.
Jean handed her a salad plate and said. "Put on the table."
"Yes, yes!" Seol took the plate, wondering if she'd been flirting with Leon all along. As she set the salad plate down on the table, she glanced into the kitchen.
The sight of two slender men standing and working in the kitchen looked like something out of a photo book.
If they got Jean in his uniform, take a picture of him, and hang it up, the military won't have to worry about recruitment. Women will be lining up. Some men, too.
Seol wasn't immune to males, especially handsome ones like this. Not because she was in her estrus, not because she'd only been studying, but because here she was, out of the blue, sleeping with two handsome people-.
"Get a mental grip!" Seol said, slapping herself across the cheek. Leon smirked and said in a low voice.
"Why can I hear everything she's been thinking?" He asked, his voice low and tiny enough to be inaudible to her, but audible to Jean, who was nearby.
Jean faintly smiled at the way Seol seemed to be deciding things for herself.
"I suppose so," He lowly replied.
-----
The three sat around the table. Seol broke the silence.
"This is Leon's house, isn't it?"
"Yes."
"It's very clean."
"Are you surprised?"
"Well, isn't this hard to clean up?" The all-white interior had a stark neatness to it.
Leon shrugged. "I hired people."
"Oh, I see. Our salaries are quite good, aren't they?"
"The hazard pay is good, no?"
"That's true." Seol nodded. Breakfast continued at a leisurely pace, alternating between the crispy, salty bacon, and sweet hotcakes, often refreshed with a fresh salad.
It wasn't until Seol said, "Since you two made breakfast, I'll do the dishes,"
Then Jean opened his mouth.
"Seol."
"Yes," Seol replied, straightening her back, which made Jean faintly smile before asking,
"I know it's not the best way to start, but what do you think about dating me?"
"What?"
"Oh, wait, that's cheesy! But you know what? Me too, I'm in. Date me too." Leon said, raising his hand in surprise. He looked at Jean and grunted.
"Wow, you're using the quick way-"
"So? I told you to tell her straight up, and besides, why are you interrupting?"
"I'm the one who said that Seol was cute in the first place."
"That's what you say all the time."
"That's not fair."
Seol's mouth dropped open as she watched the two people who she didn't know if they were getting along or not.
Karims had passed all kinds of marriages—polygamous, monogamous, polyandrous, etc.
A nice male might have multiple females, and a nice female might have multiple males. Of course, the most common was monogamy, which compromise of 80% of the time, but that doesn't mean there aren't other types.
No. But both Leon and Jean were alpha males who were cool enough to have multiple females.
"With me?" Seol pointed to herself again.
"Then with who?" Jean asked, and her mouth dropped open.
Leon smirked. "Do you hate it?"
"Hate...... I don't, but is that okay?"
"There's no rule against teammates dating."
Jean said, sipping his coffee. Leon nodded. Of course, Seol wouldn't say no when two gorgeous males ask her to go out with them.
How could I even say no? Seol hesitated, then nodded.
'I'm not that interesting anyway, I'm just a computer geek. I don't know what these two are into, but I'm sure they'll lose interest soon enough,' Seol thought to herself,
'At least, I'll have a story to tell people about dating them.'
"Okay. We're now dating." Leon laughed,
"We don't have to be so secretive."
Jean gave Leon an annoyed glance, then turned to Seol.
"You can dump this guy anytime."
"Oh."
Leon pouted his lips, but Jean didn't blink. When Seol sneaks a look at him, his cold gray-blue eyes flicker with a slight smile.
'Wow-' Seol quickly lowered her eyes. She'd never seen Jean in plain clothes before. Seol stuttered and opened her mouth.
"It feels different seeing you in casual clothes."
"Is that so?" Jean looked down at his outfit. Seol nodded. "Uniforms are nice, but plain clothes are nice too."
"Come to think of it, I've never seen Seol in plain clothes. Maybe next time?"
At that, Seol nodded. "Yeah, yeah."
"What about me?" Leon cut in, his eyes narrowing.
"What about me? Isn't this your first time seeing me in plain clothes?"
"It is," Seol said. Their military uniform had a different vibe with casual clothes, though Leon didn't seem to be much different in plain clothes than he was in uniform.......
"Hmmm, that's too much," Leon said with her lack of comment,
"No. You two both look good." Seol stammeringly replied.
"You didn't compliment me," Leon grumbled. Seol didn't know what to say.
"Well, do you want me to put the dishes away now? I'll do the dishes."
"The dishwasher will do the dishes, you just have to put them in."
"I'll put them in."
"I'll put them in with you." Jean got up from his seat.
There were no leftovers, few dishes, and two people stuck in front of the dishwasher with nothing to do. Seol was trying to figure out what to say when Leon hugged her from behind.
"Ah, Seol, you smell good. So sweet. You smell so tempting."
"You smelled good, too, Leon.", Seol replied, blushing. Jean took her hand and kissed it,
"Come on. Shall we go?"
"Let's go."
"What? To where?" The two males replied, smirking.
"To the bedroom."
"To the bed."
